Non-Surgical Ingrown Toenail Treatment

An ingrown toenail also known as onychocryptosis is a painful toe problem that involves a sharp spike of nail digging into the surrounding skin. This causes swelling and redness at the edge of the nail bed and can be very painful.

Infection of the skin is quite common, resulting in warmth, redness, yellow discharge and tenderness when walking.

Our Podiatrist will remove that sharp spike of nail during your treatment, clean up the affected area, apply anti-bacterial ointment and cover the wound with an appropriate dressing. Wound care instructions will be provided and any questions answered.

follow-up appointment with an ongoing management plan might be discussed.

Private health insurance rebates are applicable if you have private health cover for podiatry services.

Ingrown Toenail Surgery With Local Anaesthetic

If your ingrown toenail requires surgery when regular clinical intervention is not effective or not appropriate for your condition, our podiatrist will discuss and schedule an ingrown toenail surgery for you.

Ingrown toenail surgery can often be scheduled on the same day if required.

Surgery is sometimes delayed if antibiotics are required to clear up an infection of the skin or if you have a medical condition which prevents surgery without external consultation with your GP or Specialists.

After your ingrown toenail surgery, a follow-up appointment will be arranged for your post-surgical care and management.

Ingrown Toenail Surgery -

From $700.00

Fee includes the cost of an extended consultation, local anaesthetic & surgical supplies.

Surgery is often not necessary. Please book a Non-Surgical Ingrown Toenail Treatment for an initial evaluation.
